To get a job in ISRO you must have passed 12th or intermediate with Mathematics, Physics. Also candidates must have completed degree in Avionics Engineering, Astronomy or Space Engineering course. Especially if you want to join ISRO as a Scientist, if you study the following courses after intermediate, the jobs will come looking for you!

How to get job at ISRO?

Those who have recently completed their graduation from prestigious institutes like IISC, IIT, NIT have got placement in ISRO. ISRO selects bright candidates in B.Tech programs with demonstrated excellence in Engineering Physics, Electronics and Communications, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Most of the graduates from IIST (Indian Institute of Space Technology) get placements in ISRO every year. Another important point is that minimum CGPA of 7.5 is a must.

ISRO conducts Centralized Recruitment Board Exam (ICRB) every year for recruitment in ISRO. Candidates who have completed BE, B.Tech, B.Sc (Engineering), or Diploma + BE/BTech (Lateral Entry) degree are eligible for this exam. ISRO Centralized Recruitment Board Exam (ICRB) selects students who are skilled in computer, mechanical or electronic streams. Candidates with first-class degree in BE/B Tech scoring a minimum of 65% or CGPA 6.84 are considered eligible for jobs at ISRO. Also should have secured a good rank in JEE Advanced, Kishore Vygyanik Prothsahan Yojana or State and Central Board based Aptitude Tests conducted by IISER.

To get a job at ISRO, one should have a good grasp of science, mathematics and physics while studying in high school and intermediate. Must have secured 75 percent and above marks.

  • B.Tech + MS/M.Tech
  • Bachelors in Physics (BSc Physics)
  • Masters in Physics (MSc Physics)
  • PhD in Physics
  • B.Tech in Engineering Physics + MS in Solid State Physics, Astronomy, Earth System Science / M.Tech in Optical Engineering
  • B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering
  • PhD in Aerospace Engineering
  • Masters in Astronomy (MSc Astronomy)
  • PhD in Astronomy
  • B.Tech + M.Tech in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, CS)
